AVIK SANYAL

I am currently a Continuing Lecturer at the Department of History, Philosophy, Political Science and Economics. Prior to my current position I was Instructional Assistant Professor at Illinois State University.  I graduated with my Ph.D in  Economics from the University of California, Irvine in June of 2023. My research interests include Applied Microeconomics, Public Economics, Health Economics, and Political Economy. As a researcher, I empirically analyze various determinants and economic outcomes of mental health policy in the US. I am currently studying the legislative impact of mass shootings in the realm of mental health policy.
